CARING INSTRUCTIONS: EAR, EYEBROW, NOSE
Do not touch your piercing with dirty hands!!!

Cleaning

1.

Always wash your hands carefully before touching your piercing.

2.

Rinse off all blood plasma that has dried on your jewelry, using plenty of water.

3.

Clean your piercing and its surroundings with a couple of drops of Antiseptic Aftercare Solution (benzalkonium chloride). Turn the jewelry so that you get a little solution inside the piercing. No need to rinse.

4.

Repeat twice a day.

5.

Keep your piercing clean (clean pillow case, telephone etc.)

You can even use mild saltwater: ¼ tsp. sea salt in 2 dl/8 oz water. You can use this several times a day.

Your health
Eat a healthy diet, sleep and exercise. Avoid alcohol and cigarettes. Supplement your diet with a multivitamin and zinc (15-50 mg/day).

What is normal?

1.

Bleeding, bruising or swelling around the piercing is normal.

2.

A new piercing is always sore, and can feel uncomfortable for several days.

3.

During the healing period your piercing secretes blood plasma, which is a clear, white or yellowish liquid, which dries on your jewelry.

4.

The piercing's condition may vary during the healing period with no obvious reason.

Avoid swimming pools, hot tubs, tanning beds etc. Avoid getting make up, perfumed soap, shampoo, cleansers, creams, hairspray perfume, after shave etc. in your piercing. If your piercing is in your ear, avoid sleeping or talking on the phone on that side.

You should not

-

Use alcohol, iodine or peroxide to clean your piercing. They are too strong and will irritate and dry out your skin.

-

Use any creams. They do not let your piercing breathe and can even cause infections.

-

Wash too often, or use many different cleansing solutions. It might irritate and dry out your skin and will not make your piercing heal faster.

-

Cover your piercing with a band aid. It is better that your piercing gets air.

-

Remove the jewelry, as the piercing can close up in just minutes. Never remove the jewelry if you suspect an inflammation. If you have to remove it because of surgery etc., contact us.

During the healing period
Come for a check-up after two weeks. The piercing may feel healed after a couple of weeks, but it is not! Continue to take care of it during the whole healing period. Do not change your jewelry too early. The wrong kind or size of jewelry can slow the healing process. If you have questions, contact us.
